We lost our beloved Randy on August 9, 2008 after a brave and dignified fight with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. Randy was born June 2, 1959 in Eugene, Oregon to Loretta Buttenhoff Ward and Darryl Buttenhoff.

He was committed to his beloved Anna and their two sons, Jayson Michael and Joel Daniel. Randy's joys in life were his family, his music and his garden. He loved to cook, always getting inspiration for new dishes from the Food Network. He was also a meticulous house painter, and very proud of the work he did. He could talk politics all day long and was a devoted Democrat.

Randy is survived by the love of his life, Anna; their sons, Jayson, and Joel; his brother, Mikeal; his mother, Loretta; his father, Darryl and step mother, Shirley; his grandma, Betty; his much loved father and mother in law, Gene and Monica; and all the friends he loved. He was preceded in death by his faithful companions, Teddy and Hankaroo.

Randy's favorite charity was Habitat for Humanity, please give generously.

Anyone who knew Randy Buttenhoff would tell you, that he was one of the most intelligent people that they had ever had the honor of knowing.  Randy was constantly keeping up an learning all he could about the latest information that is always coming out about the advances, and discoveries of new medications for people with HIV/AIDS.  Randy had joy in sharing all the new knowledge about HIV/AIDS  with everyone, whenever he could.  Randy was a man who gave a lot of himself for others.  He will be remembered as a very loving person who never said a bad thing about anyone, and gave one hell of a good fight.  Peace be to you Randy our beloved friend.
